WSLB Leadership Curriculum

Pillars of the WSLB Leadership Framework

 (as defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary):

Accountability

An obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one’s actions.

Advocacy

The act or process of supporting a cause or proposal.

Communication

 A process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior.

Emotional Intelligence

The ability to recognize, understand and deal skillfully with one’s own emotions, and the emotions of others (as by regulating one’s emotions or by showing empathy and good judgment in social interactions).

Open-Mindedness

The ability to be receptive to arguments or ideas.

Passion

A strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept; An intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction.

Resilience

 An ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

Service

 The act of serving: such as a helpful act and/or useful labor that does not produce a tangible commodity.

Teamwork

Work done by a group acting together so that each member does a part that contributes to the efficiency of the whole.

Vision

 A thought, concept, or object formed by the imagination; Unusual discernment or foresight.
